2012 Cycle to the Sun

Saturday, August 25: 
2012 Cycle to the Sun.  Cyclists from around the world compete in a legendary 36 mile uphill race on Maui from beachside Paia to the 10,000 foot summit of Haleakala.  The race, often described as the planet’s longest, steepest race course, starts at 6:30 a.m. Riders can register individually or as a three person relay team. Entry fee is $200 for individual race, or $300 for three person relay team. $25 late fee for entries after August 6.
