An American alternative rock band from Sacramento, California, CAKE is comprised of lead singer John McCrea, trumpeter Vince DiFiore, guitarist Xan McCurdy, bassist Gabe Nelson and drummer Paulo Baldi. The band is noted for McCrea’s sarcastic lyrics and deadpan voice, DiFiore’s trumpet parts and a wide range of musical influences, including country, rock, funk, mariachi, Iranian folk and hip-hop. Waimea Mill Site Activities. Island entertainment with loads of food, craft & game booths, beer garden, contests and lots of sporting events. At the Old Waimea Sugar Mill, the fun starts on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday at 10 a.m. Free entertainment until 11:30 p.m., both nights. Saturday events include a fun run, canoe race, rodeo, ukulele contest, ice cream eating contest. Lei contest and cultural demonstrations at the West Kaua’i Visitor Center Friday & Saturday. 12th Annual Waimea Round-Up Rodeo

12th Annual Waimea Round-Up Rodeo. Events take place behind the old Waimea Dairy (between Waimea & Kekaha, look for signs off the highway). Saturday Grand entry and flag ceremony with recognition of the Hall of Fame Cowboys starts at noon. Refreshments available. Bring sunscreens, hats and enjoy the family fun for the afternoon. Opening Night Party at the Maui Crafts Guild

You are invited to an opening night party at the Maui Crafts Guild (69 Hana Highway) in Paia for featured ceramic and mask artist Tracy Lamon and contemporary abstract artist Diane LaFontaine. Kokua Kailua Hulihe’e Palace Concert Series & Village Stroll. One Sunday each month from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Ali’i Drive along scenic Kailua Bay in Kailua- Kona becomes a festive pedestrian-only walkway. Enjoy music, artists, merchants and restau- rants. At 4:00 p.m., there is a free Hawaiian music concert on the lawn at Hulihe’e Palace. Bring your own mat or chair and they will be checked for free while you stroll Ali’i Drive, Kailua Village (Kona). Portuguese Day in the Park – Hilo

Portuguese Day in the Park – Hilo. Celebrate all things Portuguese! Chamber members will be making Portuguese bean soup and baking bread in the “fourno”, then distributing it free to everyone. Live music, sweet bread, pickled onions, sausage, and malasadas will be available for purchase. Na Mea Hawai`i Hula Kahiko Performance. Featuring Halau Na Pua Ha`aheo O Kona with kumu hula Roy Palacat. This outdoor presentation takes place rain or shine at the hula platform located near VAC Gallery. 10:30 a.m. The audience is encouraged to bring sitting mats and sun/rain gear. On the same day, there are hands-on cultural demonstrations from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm at VAC Gallery porch. Hawai`i Volcanoes  National Park. All events are free (donations welcome); park entrance fees apply.
