Saturday December 7:
Honolulu City Lights. Experience the lighting of the 50-foot Norfolk Christmas tree on the lawn, live entertainment and the unique Electric Light Parade along King Street. Food booths, keiki rides and souvenir booths open on the Honolulu Hale (City Hall) grounds at 4 p.m. Tree lighting at 6 p.m., followed by the parade. After the parade, families can venture over to Sky Gate, on the grounds of the Frank F. Fasi Civic Center, to watch the star-studded holiday concert and enjoy the family rides and food booths. The Kauai Community College Instrumental Music Ensembles their 2013 Winter Concert Series. Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii: at 7:00pm. The series begins with the Kauai Community College Jazz Ensemble and the Kauai Community College Wind Symphony presenting their programs on The Jazz Ensemble will feature tunes by Thad Jones and the Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra. Kaua‘i Community College’s own Peggy Lake will be featured as the Jazz Vocalist for the evening. The Wind Symphony will be feature music ranging from selections from Disney’s The Lion King, the classic march Semper Fidelis, by John Philip Souza, and some holiday favorites. Admission is free, but donations are accepted at the door. All donations will help continue this unique program. The annual lighted parade, starts at 5:30 p.m. from historic Church Row Park to Waimea Park. The main highway through town will be closed from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Santa will be at Parker Ranch Center after the parade.
