Lavaman Triathlon – Waikoloa

Lavaman Triathlon – Waikoloa.  The 16th Annual Lavaman Triathlon Festival features an Olympic distance 10K-run, 40K-bike and 1.5K-swim open to individuals and relay teams of all ages and abilities, plus 5-K sunset fun run March 28, Lava Kids Aquathon March 29, health and fitness expo, awards party and beach barbeque. Discover Your Future in Aviation.  Young people interested in aviation as a career or hobby will want to attend this event which will be filled with hands-on workshops, a career fair, flight lab, and interactive science exhibits.   Honoring Captain Sharyn Emminger-Dey, the first female pilot to fly for Hawaiian Airlines and captained the highly publicized flight of the first all-female flight crew.  Participants can enter to win aviation prizes and take photos with historical aviation re-enactors. Lavaman Waikoloa Sunset 5K Fun Run/Walk presented by Bike Works Beach & Sports Queens Marketplace Waikoloa Beach Resort. This is a fun course through the Waikoloa Beach Resort, featuring beautiful sunset views and a preview of the Lavaman Triathalon Course. Run Course includes off-road sections. John Sebastian.  John Sebastian is a founding member of The Lovin’ Spoonful and a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer. His #1 hit songs include: “Do You Believe In Magic?” “Daydream” “Summer In The City” and many more.  These songs did more than simply answer the British invasion of Beatlemania, they carried the American musical tradition into the future. The Lovin’ Spoonful disbanded and John performed at massive festivals like Woodstock and Isle of Wight, and wrote movie scores. John Sebastian is a master musician, writer and performer. Kokua Kailua Hulihe`e Palace Concert Series & Village Stroll.  Ali`i Drive along scenic Kailua Bay in Kailua-Kona becomes a festive pedestrian-only walkway from 1 to 6 p.m. Enjoy music, artists, merchants and restaurants. At 4 p.m., there is a free Hawaiian music concert on the lawn at Hulihe`e Palace.
