The attack on Pearl Harbor Blackened Canteen Ceremony. The 73rd Anniversary of the Attack on Pearl Harbor Blackened Canteen Ceremony hosted by Dr. Hiroya Sugan M.D. will be aboard the USS Arizona at 11:30 a.m. Dr. Hiroya Sugano comes from Japan to conduct this annual commemoration of peace and reconciliation ceremony with a silent prayer and pouring bourbon whisky from a WWII-blackened canteen into the water from the USS Arizona Memorial as an offering to the spirits of the fallen. Xterra Trail Run World Championship

Xterra Trail Run World Championship. This 21-kilometer half-marathon course is takes runners through some of the most diverse – and scenic – terrain on the planet. There is no qualifying process to enter the XTERRA Trail Run World Championship. It is an event open to runners of all ages, from elite to beginner. Honolulu City Lights Opening Ceremonies and Parade

Honolulu City Lights Opening Ceremonies and Parade. Experience the lighting of the 50-foot Norfolk Christmas tree on the Honolulu Hale lawn, live entertainment and the unique Electric Light Parade along King Street. Festivities begin at 4 p.m., with food booths and Keiki Rides at Sky Gate, tree lighting ceremony begins at 6 p.m., followed by the Electric Light Parade, which begins at A`ala Park and continues down King Street. After the parade, families can view the decorated Christmas tree and wreath displays in the courtyard of Honolulu Hale before venturing over to Sky Gate, on the grounds of the Frank F. Fasi Civic Center, to watch the star-studded holiday concert and enjoy the family rides and food booths.
