Filipino Fiesta & Flores de Mayo Festival Week. Celebrate this weeklong celebration highlighting the wondrous and colorful culture of the Philippines. Called Flores de Mayo, the festival brings to Hawai`i the joy and celebrations of the month of May and the traditional fiesta time in the Philippines. A week featuring a cook-off, Filipino films with English subtitles, Santacruzan at the FilCom Center and ending the celebration with a parade at Kapiolani Park in Waikiki. Held at various locations. Bank of Hawai`i presents Hawai`i Book & Music Festival

Bank of Hawai`i presents Hawai`i Book & Music Festival. A family-friendly event, festival-goers will enjoy two days packed with readings by and discussions with local, national and internationally known authors; performances by musicians, storytellers, actors and dancers; and ongoing entertainment for the kids, including the return of Mr. Steve, national host of PBS Kids. There also are book-sellers and publisher booths, the Bank of Hawai`i Book Swap, and an international, open-air food court. Frank F. Kauluwehi Lei Exhibition and Kauluwehi Lei Contest. On May 1st, The Kauluwehi Lei Exhibition will be open at the Wailoa Center in Hilo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. View the lei crafted by Hawai`i’s very own lei artists at a juried lei contest. Refreshments, entertainment and keiki crafts will be available. 5 to 7 p.m. On Saturday, May 2nd, participate in a free Kauluwehi lei workshop. Participants will craft a kui-style lei. Cazimero Lei Day Concert

The annual tradition of a Maui Lei Day Concert at The MACC with the Cazimero ohana is always a celebratory event.  Enjoy contemporary Hawaiian music with Robert Cazimero along with his band, and hula with dancers from his hālau.
