Explorers Club. All day STEM and flight simulation programs for 3rd through 8th graders. Students explore topics in science, technology, engineering and math. One-day registration is $60 ($55 Museum Members) and includes all program materials. Students provide their own lunch. Ki Hoalu Festival
Sunday, June 28:
Ki Hoalu Festival. A showcase of Hawai`i’s great slack key guitar musicians, presented in a laid-back, local-style outdoor festival. Bring your own beach chair, blanket or lauhala mat to stretch out on the lawn and enjoy an afternoon of music from mid-day till dusk. The lineup (announced in May) always includes many of your favorite musicians and recording artists, to make this an annual favorite Maui event; fun for families and for all ages. Free admission. Kilauea Art Night. Discover locally made pottery, wood work, original fine art, jewelry, organic skincare, handmade soaps, wish trees, apparel, chocolates and more. Hula Kahiko Performance by Kumu Hula Iwalani KaLima with Halau Kou Lime Nani E. Hula halau from across Hawai`i and beyond have been invited to perform in a one-of-a-kind outdoor setting at the kahua hula (platform) in the Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park, located just a short walking distance from the Volcano Art Gallery in an area known as Ka`auea. 10:30 a.m. Audience members are encouraged to bring sun/rain gear and sitting mat. Waikiki Artfest. Featuring approximately 75-100 fine artists and handcraft artisans who display their own art for sale including jewelry of all types, clothing, wood products, stained glass, ceramics, soaps and candles, bags, quilts, lauhala products. Obon Festival

Obon Festival. The Obon tradition was brought to Hawai`i by Japanese immigrants and evolved into a social and cultural event, as well as a religious custom designed to honor ancestors through an evening of dance, music and merry-making.
