E Pulama Mau O Maui. This annual fundraiser will be a generous mix of Maui halau and Maui musicians. There will also be a silent auction, free craft demonstrations, informational booths, and special museum exhibits. The museum will be open for tours and gift shop. The fundraising goal of the event is to raise unrestricted funds to help support the Maui Historical Society’s educational programs and the Bailey House Museum and Archival Resource Center. Waikiki Holiday Parade

Waikiki Holiday Parade. Since 1998, the Waikiki Holiday Parade commemorates Pearl Harbor Survivors and the anniversary of the attacks. Thousands of spectators, residents and visitors gather on the Friday after Thanksgiving to watch this non-competitive parade, which hosts local bands, marching bands from the mainland, Pearl Harbor Survivors, service bands, military units, local officials, dignitaries and entertainers. Mahina`ai Night. Join a torch lit guided tour of a walking trail while learning about Kaho`olawe. Then, gather in the KIRC’s Kalamalama traditional hale, where historical artifacts from Kaho`olawe will be on display, and enjoy live entertainment provided by University of Hawai`i Maui College’s Institute of Hawaiian Music. Hula Kahiko Performance

Hula Kahiko Performance. Hula halau from across Hawai`i and beyond have been invited to perform in a one-of-a-kind outdoor setting at the kahua hula (platform) in the Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park, located just a short walking distance from the Volcano Art Gallery in Ka`auea. 10:30 a.m. Audience members are encouraged to bring sun/rain gear and sitting mat. The event is free, park fees apply. Held in conjunction with the Hula Kahiko performances, enjoy a display of “Na Mea Hula” (all things hula). Visitors share in a variety of instruments, implements and lei styles that play an integral role in the life of the hula practitioner. This memorable demonstration is hands-on and family friendly.
