Augie T’s Last Stand. After 27 years of performing stand-up comedy, veteran local comedian and Palace Theater favorite, Augie T announces his final big comedy tour. At 50 years old, it’s time to hang up the BVDs and focus on new endeavors in life. Augie T has been at the core of the local comedy revival since he began performing for audiences in Hawai`i and across the United States over a quarter century ago. He was named one of Pacific Business News 40 Under 40, funniest comic in Hawai`i by the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and Midweek, and one of Hawai`i’s Top 100 influential Filipinos. Augie’s work has been recognized as best comedy show by Honolulu Magazine, topped the DVD sales chart, and won two Hawai`i Music Awards and two Na Hoku Hanohano awards. Waimea Cherry Blossom Heritage Festival. The festival showcases the 60+ year old cherry trees planted at Church Row Park and the Japanese tradition of viewing them – hanami. The festival includes a variety of activities during the day at venues throughout Waimea. Look for pink banners identifying site locations from the Parker Ranch Historic Homes on Mamalahoa Hwy. 190 to the Hawaiian Homestead Farmer’s Market on Hwy. 19. Enjoy an all day lineup of Japanese and multi-cultural performing arts, plus hands-on demonstrations of bonsai, origami, traditional tea ceremony, and mochi pounding, and a host of colorful craft fairs. Wild & Wonderful Whale Regatta

Wild & Wonderful Whale Regatta. A fast-moving watercourse featuring miniature whales and will take place after the Run & Walk for Whales event. You can enter one or more whales to race in your name (or as a gift entry) for a chance to win fabulous prizes. All entries must be received by January 26, 2019. Donations benefit Pacific Whale Foundation’s mission to protect the ocean through science and advocacy and to inspire environmental stewardship. Run & Walk for Whales. Kicking off the 39th annual Maui Whale Festival, Pacific Whale Foundation’s annual Run & Walk for Whales is one of Maui’s largest and most scenic run and walking events. With newly designed courses safer than ever, people of all abilities and ages are encouraged to join in this fun and rewarding event. Choose from a 1 mile, 5K, 10K, or 10 mile course. The event includes a free continental breakfast, door prizes, post-race entertainment with Marty Dread and a Wild & Wonderful Whale Regatta. All proceeds benefit non-profit Pacific Whale Foundation’s mission to protect the ocean through science and advocacy.
