Kauluwehi Lei Exhibition and Kauluwehi Lei Contest. On May 1^st, The Kauluwehi Lei Exhibition will be open at the Wailoa Center in Hilo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. View the lei crafted by Hawai`i’s very own lei artists at a juried lei contest. Refreshments, entertainment and keiki crafts will be available. 5 to 7 p.m. On Saturday, May 2^nd, participate in a free Kauluwehi lei workshop. Participants will craft a kui-style lei.
