Obon Dance & Festival – Shingon Shu Hawaii. Experience this island celebration of the Obon Festival, brought to Hawaii by Japanese immigrants that have evolved into a social and cultural event. The Obon honors ancestors that have passed on with dances and festivals across the island that are held throughout the summer.
Shingon Shu Hawaii: 6:30 to 10 p.m. Aug. 9-10, 915 Sheridan St., with Japanese craft fair and keiki activities.
