March 21, 2020:
Prince Kuhio Commemoration at Prince Kuhio Park. Prince Kuhio Festivals around the state will be held in the month of March to honor our Ke Alii Makaainana for his love and passion of the Hawaiian people. The Prince Kuhio Festival will feature Hawaiian Civic Clubs, the Hawaiian Royal Societies, Hawaiian Homestead Associations, halau hula, cultural practitioners, Hawaiian serving institutions, Hawaiian musical groups, Hawaiian schools, and Hawaiian entertainers who will deliver a family-friendly immersion in various Hawaiian cultural activities open to the public. This commemoration is an annual event since 1928 that pays tribute to the Prince and his birthplace. The commemoration organized by the Royal Order, Kaumualii Chapter, invites local Hawaiian agencies and organizations, including each of the Hawaiian societies to present tribute to the Prince and to reflect on his accomplishments during his lifetime. The event concludes with food and entertainment for all participants to enjoy.
