Waimea Paniolo Parade and Ho`olaulea

Waimea Paniolo Parade and Ho`olaulea. Parade will start at 10 a.m. at “Church Row” and proceed to Waimea Park, featuring princesses on horseback with attendees decorated with the flowers of their respective islands. The Parade is followed by one of the best crafts show of the year, featuring island foods, games, arts & crafts, Hawaiian products and live entertainment in Waimea Ball Park at 11a.m. Free admission. A great family event! Note: 1 hour road closure.

Hawaiicon Convention. HawaiiCon brings together the best of science, sci-fi, fantasy, comic books, anime and cosplay at the Hapuna Beach Price Hotel. WiliWili Festival. Celebrate Hawai’i’s native dryland forest and the wiliwili flowering season. The festival will offer educational workshops, tours, vendors, native plant sales, prizes, keiki activities, silent auction, great music, food and much more. The festival organizers ask that attendees please carpool, and if you opt to ride your bicycle you will receive a free t-shirt. Niaulani Nature Walk. A free, guided rain forest tour in Volcano. This one-hour nature walk travels through a lush portion of an old-growth Hawaiian rain forest on an easy, 1/7-mile loop trail. The walk introduces visitors to the native plants and birds of Volcano. Guides focus not only on the biological, ecological, and geological features of the area, but also the cultural usages of flora and fauna by native Hawaiians.
