Hula Kahiko Performance

Hula Kahiko Performance. Hula halau from across Hawai`i and beyond have been invited to perform in a one-of-a-kind outdoor setting at the kahua hula (platform) in the Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park, located just a short walking distance from the Volcano Art Gallery in an area known as Ka`auea. 10:30 a.m. Audience members are encouraged to bring sun/rain gear and sitting mat. Kauluwehi Lei Exhibition and Kauluwehi Lei Contest

Kauluwehi Lei Exhibition and Kauluwehi Lei Contest. On May 1st, The Kauluwehi Lei Exhibition will be open at the Wailoa Center in Hilo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. View the lei crafted by Hawai`i’s very own lei artists at a juried lei contest. Refreshments, entertainment and keiki crafts will be available. 5 to 7 p.m. On Saturday, May 2nd, participate in a free Kauluwehi lei workshop. Participants will craft a kui-style lei.
