Hula Arts at Kilauea

Hula Arts at Kilauea.  This VAC program features Halau Ha`a Kea `O Kinohi under the direction of kumu hula Paul Neves. This inspired outdoor presentation takes place rain or shine at the hula platform located near VAC Gallery in Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.  The audience is encouraged to bring sitting mat and sun/rain gear. Kokua Kailua Hulihe`e Palace Concert Series & Village Stroll.  Ali`i Drive along scenic Kailua Bay in Kailua-Kona becomes a festive pedestrian-only walkway from 1 to 6 p.m. Enjoy music, artists, merchants and restaurants. At 4 p.m., there is a free Hawaiian music concert on the lawn at Hulihe`e Palace. Kailua-Kona Christmas Parade.  Parade starts at 5 p.m. at the Kona Pool and Gym, just north of Kaiwi Street on Kuakini Highway.  It goes down Kuakini to Palani and along Ali`i Drive to Walua Road just past Coconut Grove Marketplace. “World of Magic” Performance at Palace Theater

“World of Magic” Performance at Palace Theater.  Join in a mid-day event of spell binding entertainment and treats, featuring Hilo’s own Taishoji Taiko drumming group, and Oahu magician Kelvin Chun, guaranteeing good, family fun for all ages.  Starting at 11 a.m., at Hilo’s historic Palace Theater, 38 Haili Street, Hilo.  At the show’s end, expect a jolly visit from Santa.  Free, donations accepted.  For information call (808) 935-1717.

Christmas in Waimea

Christmas in Waimea.  Enjoy craft fairs, entertainment, holiday giving, keiki (children’s) games, and food at venues throughout Waimea.  The annual lighted parade, starts at 5:30 p.m. from historic Church Row Park to Waimea Park. The main highway through town will be closed from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Santa will be at Parker Ranch Center after the parade.
