2012 Kaua’i Powwow “Rejuvenate Your Spirit”

2012 Kaua’i Powwow “Rejuvenate Your Spirit”.   The Native American festival is three days starting Friday with a School Outreach Program in the morning at Lydgate Pavilion for local school children. On Saturday and Sunday at the Kapa`a Beach Park the dancing and drum beats of the pow wow begin at 10:00 a.m. Enjoy great food, crafts, costumes and lots of dancing and fun. Malie Foundation: Hula Competition Solo/Group Kahiko Nei.  This event demonstrates a creative and unique idea in hula in the ancient style (kahiko) with a slight twist of Kaua’i flavor. Newer chants are encouraged by judges. Chants that are 10 years old or less get five bonus points. Three bonus points are given to chants 20 years or younger.
