Historic Waimea Walking Tour

Every Monday: 
Historic Waimea Walking Tour.
  Take a 2.5 hour walk back through time in the place where Captain Cook first landed in Waimea.  Where the agricultural landscape changed from taro to rice to corn, watered by an intricate ditch system with a marvelous history dating back to the time of the legendary menehune. Learn about the last King of Kaua`i, the missionaries, and other famous citizens of Waimea and the landmarks they left behind. Enjoy a taste of the past in one of the most historic towns in all of Hawai`i. Registration is required for participation and special group tours are available. Old Town Kapa`a Art Walk

Old Town Kapa`a Art Walk.
  Kapa`a Town goes all out for its First Saturday of every month Art Walk. The main street is lined with vendors selling Kaua`i Arts and crafts, with some of Kaua`i’s best musicians and bands playing up and down the street. There are lots of shops and restaurants to choose from.  It’s great fun for the whole family and a great way to see Kaua`i life, whether you are a visitor or resident.  Kapa`a Town. 5 to 9 p.m.  Free. 

Sliding N’ Gliding into the New Year

Sliding N’ Gliding into the New Year.
  Start off 2019 with some inflatable fun. Enjoy waterslides, big to small, and Hawai`i’s only Inflatable Zipline. Open to the public and all ages welcomed. $15 gets you a wristband for all day fun. New Year’s Eve Celebration and Fireworks Display

New Year’s Eve Celebration and Fireworks Display.
  Grab you lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy this annual celebration at Poipu Beach Park.   There will be a showing of a free family-friendly movie, (TBA), on the big outdoor screen followed by a spectacular fireworks show.  Food trucks will be lined up to keep bellies happy. Island Breeze

Island Breeze.
  Island Breeze is a trio of world-class musicians, each masters of their own instruments, who have come together to create new and beautiful music. Grammy nominated slack key guitarist, Jeff Peterson, and shakuhachi master, Riley Lee, have been working together for many years. They joined forces with taiko master, Kenny Endo, and together the three recorded a CD which was released in 2014. The unique blend of slack key guitar, taiko drums, and Japanese flute is an inspired sound.
