Historic Waimea Walking Tour

Historic Waimea Walking Tour. 
Take a 2.5 hour walk back through time in the place where Captain Cook first landed in Waimea.  Where the agricultural landscape changed from taro to rice to corn, watered by an intricate ditch system with a marvelous history dating back to the time of the legendary menehune. Learn about the last King of Kaua`i, the missionaries, and other famous citizens of Waimea and the landmarks they left behind. Enjoy a taste of the past in one of the most historic towns in all of Hawai`i. Registration is required for participation and special group tours are available. 4th Annual Christmas Sing Along with Harps Concert. 
Sing your favorite Christmas carols accompanied by two amazing harpists: Sylvia Woods and Madeleine Brandli.  Sylvia Woods is a world-renowned Celtic harpist who lives in Princeville. Madeleine Brandli plays the large concert pedal harp and lives part-time in Honolulu. The singing will be led by Princeville musician Bob Smith. In addition to caroling, these festive concerts will also feature Christmas harp solos and fun surprises! This year’s concert will feature carols about animals. Enjoy this fun and joyful concert of Advent carols and Christmas music.  St. Michaels and All Angels Church, 4364 Hardy St., Lihue. Old Town Kapa`a Art Walk

Old Town Kapa`a Art Walk.
  Kapa`a Town goes all out for its First Saturday of every month Art Walk. The main street is lined with vendors selling Kaua`i Arts and crafts, with some of Kaua`i’s best musicians and bands playing up and down the street. There are lots of shops and restaurants to choose from.  It’s great fun for the whole family and a great way to see Kaua`i life, whether you are a visitor or resident.  Kapa`a Town. 5 to 9 p.m.  Free.

  Bring your family and meet your friends at Kilauea Night Market. The last Saturday of every month is always a good time at Anaina Hou. Food trucks, local vendors, and live music bands; it’s fun for all ages, and a good time no matter what the weather. Arrive early and play a round of mini golf. Rice Street Block Party—A Family Fun Festival

Rice Street Block Party—A Family Fun Festival: A family-focused event to bring the whole community together.  There’s plenty to see and do, with artisans’ booths, live entertainment, dancing, food trucks and culinary specials from local businesses. A mural art-in-progress contest starring celebrated artists from Kaua`i and Honolulu will bring to life the plywood barrier in front of the former Salvation Army building at Rice and Kress streets (you can vote on your favorite!) A Keiki Zone at the Rice Shopping Center will feature fun, games and the guest appearance of Paulo, the historic Grove Farm train engine. The Rice Street festivities take place from 4 to 8 p.m., but the party is happening much of the day in nearby Kalena Park, including a “Conquer Kalena” 3-on-3 basketball tournament for boys and girls divisions (5th through 8th grades). There will be food and drink at the park too. Rice Street will be closed from Kalena Street to the Rice Shopping Center from 2 to 10 p.m. for the block party. Free parking is available at the Kaua`i Civic Center parking lot and free shuttle service will transport party goers to and from Vidinha stadium from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Rice Shopping Center to Kalena Park, Lihue.  For information call (808) 245-9527.
