January 27, 2020:
E Kanikapila Kakou 2020 – “Hula, Mele & Moolelo” featuring the Papakolea Serenaders. “Hula, Mele & Moolelo” — continues its 37th season on Monday, January 27, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. with an evening of old-style Hawaiian mele and exciting insights into the anatomy of contemporary music. “Papakolea Serenaders” hail from the heart of Honolulu featuring Puka Asing, Taneesha Asing, Cory Mau and Jonah Solatorio. They are joined by Kauai’s own steel guitarist Edward Punua.
All EKK gigs are held in the Jasmine Ballroom of the Kauai Beach Resort from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A suggested donation in the calabash of $10 -$15 treats you to an unforgettable evening of aloha from the heart.
A no-host bar and food concession in the ballroom operates throughout the event. All EKK events are open to the public.

E Kanikapila Kakou 2020 – “Hula, Mele & Moolelo” featuring the Malie Foundation Community Hula Night. “Hula, Mele & Moolelo” — opens its 37th season on Monday, January 20, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. with the Community Hula Night, a crowd favorite, hosted by the non-profit Malie Foundation under the leadership of Maka Herrod and Nathan Kalama. Four dynamite kumu hula will be teaching hula to guests during the first hour; all will be able enjoy two hours of show-your-stuff hula as all groups take turns dancing the hula they learned earlier. It’s a true delight for dancers and onlookers. The Jasmine Ballroom of the Kauai Beach Resort will be hopping with hundreds of hula dancers. Kauai Voices sings MIXED PLATE! Historic Waimea Theater KAUAI VOICES IS WHIPPING UP A GREAT SHOW FOR YOU! Just like the mixed plate menu choice at your favorite local restaurant, Kauai Voices is serving up five main courses of music in one great show!   MIXED PLATE, by Kauai Voices, the islands only auditioned community choir, will include music of blues, jazz, gospel, country and Hawaiian, providing you with delicious arrangements of songs from each genre.   Fifty voices strong, Kauai Voices will share the emotion, passion, joy and beauty of each style, highlighting their versatility in choral music. There will also be yummy side dishes of solo and small groups performances. Though the genres are very different, they actually compliment each other in a beautiful way, says Kauai Voices Artistic Director Randy Leonard.   We will weave them together and serve them up to you like only Kauai Voices can do!   A sampling of songs to be performed includes Aloha Kauai, Basin Street Blues, Mountain Music, Trouble The Water and Tuxedo Junction. Princeville Night Market. The Princeville Night Market brings together Kauai’s finest artisans for an evening of shopping, live music, and food trucks. You’ll find a diverse collection of more than 40 Kauai artisans, ranging from paintings and wood carvings to hot sauce and handmade soap all Made in Hawaii. Enjoy dinner or a sweet treat from the featured food trucks and dessert vendors, and round out the evening by soaking up the sounds of one of our 3 musicians. There are also several restaurant options for those who prefer a sit-down meal. This free and family friendly market is on the second Sunday of every month from 4-8pm at the Princeville Shopping Center.

December 31, 2019:
New Year’s Eve Celebration @ Poipu Beach Park. Grab your lawn chairs and beach blankets and ring in the new year, Poipu style! Enjoy a family-themed movie at sunset on the large outdoor screen (titled to be determined) followed by a spectacular aerial display of fireworks at approximately 8:15pm, all in the gorgeous, ocean-side setting that Poipu Beach Park provides. You won’t be disappointed! The island’s most popular food trucks will be on hand to keep bellies happy by 5:00pm.
The Annual New Year’s Eve Celebration is FREE of charge and open to the public. Festivities will take place Tuesday, December 31st from 5:00-8:30pm on the grounds of Poipu Beach Park. The New Year’s Eve Celebration is a long-standing tradition in Poipu, hosted by the Poipu Beach Foundation in partnership with the Hawaii Tourism Authority and County of Kauai and made possible through the support and generosity of Kauai’s South Shore community.
