The Threads of Kaua`i’s History Gala

The Threads of Kaua`i’s History Gala.
  Recognizing the cultures and clothing that the many cultures have woven into Kaua`iʻs History. Dress in one of those colorful attires: Chinese, Japanese, Hawaiian, Filipino, Paniolo, Missionary, Surfer, and so many more.  Proudly wear the clothing that reflects the multi-cultures of Kaua`i. There will be a promenade for all to see the creativity and history of participants.  This 22-year project will be highlighted in a brief legacy video, “Tenacity for Preservation”. Kaua`i Chocolate & Coffee Festival.
  A celebration of all things chocolate and coffee with lots of sampling, educational displays and workshops, entertainment and exhibitor booths, featuring a variety of chocolate and coffee products from around the state.  Enjoy farm tours, informative classes, workshops/demonstrations, live entertainment, a chocolate & coffee pampering station, a silent auction, keiki activities, sampling and much more.   Enjoy food and live music by Homestead, Cruz Control and Not My First Rodeo.  A benefit for Kaua`i Habitat for Humanity. Emalani Festival

Emalani Festival.
  A day of song, hula, history and pageantry, celebrating Hawai`i’s beloved Queen Emma and recalling her journey to the Koke`e uplands and Kilohana vista in 1871. Queen Emma will enter the meadow on horseback at 11 a.m. Exhibits, craft tables, silent auction, and a snack shop enhance the festival experience. Carpooling is recommended as parking is limited. Bring your own blankets or chairs (no tents or coolers). Animals are not permitted in state parks. Admission is free and all are welcome to join in the festivities. 21st Annual Coconut Festival

21st Annual Coconut Festival. 
Celebrate all that is coconut with unique coconut crafts, coconut games, delicious coconut foods and contests with some of the best crafters, artists and entertainers in Hawai`i. Enjoy non-stop music, taiko drummers, hula, cooking demos by some of the island’s best chefs, and more. Lots of fun for keiki too, with a children’s stage, petting zoo, inflatables and coconut activities. Old Town Kapa`a Art Walk

Old Town Kapa`a Art Walk.
  Kapa`a Town goes all out for its First Saturday of every month Art Walk. The main street is lined with vendors selling Kaua`i Arts and crafts, with some of Kaua`i’s best musicians and bands playing up and down the street. There are lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. It’s great fun for the whole family and a great way to see Kaua`i life whether you are a visitor or resident.  Kapa`a Town. 5 to 9 p.m.  Free.

Matsuri Kaua`i

Matsuri Kaua`i. 
The festival will showcase different groups of Japanese talents and to perpetuate the Japanese culture on Kaua`i. Taiko performances and classical Japanese dances will also be featured. Usually a featured performance from Japan is presented at this event along with some hands on activities (i.e. oshibana, origami, oshie), crafts, kimono dressing, tea ceremony, shodo, bonsai, ikebana, and more.  Kaua`i War Memorial Convention Hall, 4191 Hardy St., Lihue.  9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Free admission.

Slack Key Guitar Concerts.
  Traditional Hawaiian slack key guitar and `ukulele concerts.
