Historic Waimea Walking Tour

istoric Waimea Walking Tour.  Take a 3 hour walk back through time in the place where Captain Cook first landed in Waimea.  Learn about the last King of Kaua`i, the missionaries, and other famous citizens of Waimea and the landmarks they left behind. The King’s Parade & Celebration

The King’s Parade & Celebration. 
The theme for this year’s celebration and parade is Ho`okahi ka `ilau (Wield the Paddles Together), in honor of Kaua`i’s ocean voyagers. Fabulous Floral parade starts at 9 a.m., beginning at the Vidinha Stadium heading up onto Rice Street and ending at the Historic County Building.  See Pa`u Island Horse Units, Floats, Walking & Riding Units and much more.  At the end of the Parade the Ho`olaule`a will begin with lots of Hawaiian entertainment.  Enjoy food booths, crafts, Hawaiian cultural demonstrations, while enjoying the hula and music.
