Ha`aheo `O Hawai`i Exhibit.  Cleopatra’s Barge was an opulent yacht built in Massachusetts in 1816. It became The Royal Yacht of King Kamehameha II who named it Ha`aheo `O Hawai`i (Pride of Hawai`i), but was wrecked in 1824. It cost about $50,000 to build, and about the same amount for luxury furnishing. E Pili Ka Kou I Ho`okahi Lahui.  Enjoy this three day non-competitive event celebrating and sharing the culture and arts of Hawai’i. Workshops in hula, oli, olelo, ka wa kahiko, craft and implement making, ukulele playing, and legends, mythology and place names will be taught renowned and celebrated Kumu. Waimea Roundup 2016

Friday & Saturday, February 19 & 20: 
Waimea Roundup 2016.  This large and diverse rodeo features Team Roping, Barrel Racing, Bronc Riding and Bull Riding. In addition, there are special events done only in Hawai’i – paniolo po’o wai u and double mugging, just like in the early paniolo (cowboy) days of old Hawai’i.  Friday is slack roping and if needed other slack competition, Saturday is full final competition.  Food concession and craft vendors will be on site. Keiki and adult dancers share hula, Tahitian and other Polynesian dances and music learned throughout the year.
