Historic Waimea Walking Tour.  Take a 3 hour walk back through time in the place where Captain Cook first landed in Waimea.  Learn about the last King of Kaua`i, the missionaries, and other famous citizens of Waimea and the landmarks they left behind. Kaua`i Marathon & Half Marathon

Sunday, September 6: 
Kaua`i Marathon & Half Marathon.  The Marathons begin in Poipu and run the first 11 miles together. The courses follow the scenic coastline, offering views of beaches, rugged volcanic peaks, and green tropical rain forests. As dawn breaks, runners will experience lush green vistas as they approach the shade of the century old Tunnel of Trees. The course then winds through misty Omao where the half marathon enters Kukuiula Resort offering spectacular ocean views for the last few miles. The full marathon heads out to Lawai before climbing to the top of Kalaheo. The remaining miles are a gradual descent until runners receive a rousing island welcome upon their return to Poipu Beach.
