Veterans Day Parade
Saturday, November 11:
Veterans Day Parade. This year’s theme is “Value Our Veterans”. The parade will commence at Ka`ala Elementary School at 10 a.m., with participants walking through and disbursing on North Cane Street. The parade will end at the Wahiawa Town Center, where, to honor our veterans, there will be a brief program and a message from the 25th Infantry Division leader. For information call (808) 522-5149.

Candlelit Tours at the Baldwin Home Museum. Step back in time and visit the Baldwin Home Museum with a tour by candle light. Tours include free light refreshments on the lanai. Tours take place on the half hour from 6 to 8 p.m. Located on the corner of Front and Dickenson Street in the heart of historic Lahaina. Holoholo Ka`a. A hands-on event for kids and kids at heart to climb aboard, pretend to drive, take photos in, and get close up and inside emergency vehicles, heavy machinery, various construction rigs, farm equipment, cool cars and more. Local business and agencies, public utilities, County and State departments showcase their vehicles while sharing their knowledge of duties and operating skills. Maui Humane Society’s Beach Buddies Visitor Program. Do you miss having a dog to spend your day with? Visitors and residents can sign up to take a homeless dog out for the day from the Maui Humane Society animal shelter. The shelter is easy to find as it is conveniently located in Pu`unene (central Maui) on Mokulele Hwy., between Kihei/Wailea and Kahului. Program participants will pick “their dog” up at 10 a.m. and bring them back no later than 3 p.m. MHS provides all of the supplies, you just provide the fun! 2017 XTERRA Kapalua Trail Runs 3.3/5/10 km & Keiki K

2017 XTERRA Kapalua Trail Runs 3.3/5/10 km & Keiki K. Duke’s Beach House XTERRA 10K, Hula Grill XTERRA 5K, and Leilani’s XTERRA 3.3K races are open to one-and-all (the 3.3km is open to walkers too). All 3.3K/5K/10K competitors will experience the famed XTERRA World Championship run course. Paul Mitchell stylists will be there cutting hair in exchange for a donation to the Challenged Athlete Foundation. Keiki K is a free fun run for kids 8 and under. Distances are age appropriate; 6-8 year old’s run about 1/2km with 5 and under 100 yards. Parents must register their children. All participants get awards and post-race refreshments. Top 3 in each division receive medals and prizes. 10km runners receive XTERRA Hawai`i Trail Run Series points.
