Helping Paws Visitor Volunteer Program

Every Wednesday and Thursday: 
Helping Paws Visitor Volunteer Program. Do you miss your pet when traveling? Visitors can offer a “helping paw” to homeless animals at the Maui Humane Society shelter every Wednesday and Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. doing such activities as walking dogs, bathing puppies, brushing cats, or playing with puppies and kittens—an important part of their socialization. Participants in the Helping Paws Visitor Volunteer Program are requested to arrive by 1 p.m. and recommended to wear close-toed shoes and comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting “mussed” or dirty. Children age 10 to17 are welcome when accompanied by a supervising adult for the duration of the volunteer session. Advance reservations are required due to space limitations. Paia Contemporary Gallery’s 19th Artist Reception.  The gallery located at 83 Hana Highway in Paia will be unveiling new abstract mixed-media sculptures by artists Caprice Pierucci [first time showing in Hawaii] and abstract paintings by Michael Kessler, associated with our gallery since 2010.
