Obon Dance & Festival.
  The Obon tradition was brought to Hawai`i by Japanese immigrants and evolved into a social and cultural event, as well as a religious custom designed to honor ancestors through an evening of dance, music and merry-making.  Free.  Festivities and Dance schedules and locations are listed below (subject to change):

The Hawai`i Burlesque Festival & Revue brings the biggest names in burlesque to Honolulu. The festival celebrates and preserves the legacy of burlesque as both an art form and cultural phenomenon.  This year’s Hawai`i Burlesque Festival & Revue celebrates 7 years of sparkling, glamorous fun and, brings in the biggest names in Burlesque to perform in Paradise, including featured performer, Bunny Pistol from the Bay Area. 36th Annual Okinawan Festival

36th Annual Okinawan Festival.
  The two-day festival celebrates Okinawan culture with food, entertainment, arts, crafts, and cultural activities. Learn about Okinawan and Japanese culture at the Cultural Tent. There will be educational booths on Okinawan language (Uchinaaguchi) and genealogy; displays of Okinawan ceramics, glassware and textiles; and bonsai plants by the Hawai`i Bonsai Association. Also, observe demonstrations of calligraphy and flower arrangement and dress in traditional Okinawan attire (bingata kimono with hanagasa headdress and/or as a paranku drummer) and have your picture taken by a professional photographer. Greek Festival

Greek Festival.
  The festival includes favorites including Greek specialties like Spanakopita (Spinach Pie), Gyro Sandwiches, Moussaka, Greek Chicken, Souvlaki (shish-ka-bob), Loukaniko (Greek Sausage) a variety of Greek Salads, Loukoumades (Greek Malasadas), ouzo sorbet, and an amazing assortment of Greek Pastries. Also available will be a Greek Vegan Meal. The Greek Taverna will be well stocked with imported Greek Beer, Ouzo, and Red, White, and Retsina wines. Learn to dance Greek and then join the fun with live music on the main courtyard stage by Mythos, a nationally known Greek Band from the West Coast.
