Obon Festival
Fridays & Saturdays, throughout the month of June:
Obon Festival. The Obon tradition was brought to Hawai`i by Japanese immigrants and evolved into a social and cultural event, as well as a religious custom designed to honor ancestors through an evening of dance, music and merry-making. The following schedule is tentative and subject to change. Please call each venue to confirm dates and times.

Flight School for Girls

Flight School for Girls. A 3-day adventure in the history and technology of aviation for 6th through 8th grade girls. Immersive, hands on activities with an emphasis on Pacific aviation and fun. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., $175 ($155 Members) for the three-day program includes all materials, lunches, snacks, and a Flight School logo tee shirt. King Kamehameha Celebration Floral Parade
Saturday, June 13:
King Kamehameha Celebration Floral Parade. This colorful celebration honors the reign of King Kamehameha. The parade starts at the corner of King and Richards Streets and ends at Kapiolani Park in Waikiki. Ho`olaule`a will follow at Kapiolani Park from 11a.m. to 4 p.m. Arrive early before 8 a.m. as the streets will be closed for the parade to pass through and reopened following the parade. Horse Show and Country Fair in Waimanalo
Saturday, June 13:
Horse Show and Country Fair in Waimanalo. Meet Maka and Kama, the adorable mini-horses featured recently in MidWeek and on Hawai`i News Now’s Sunrise show. Make friends with other gentle equines who help kids gain confidence and physical skills. Plus sit back and watch local kids and adults parade their stuff in demonstrations, cruise ono food stations and purchase goodies from vendor booths. Lots of fun, games and pony rides for the kids.
