Duke Kahanamoku Beach Challenge. The event kicks off with a double-hulled canoe procession, an oli (chant) and Kahiko (ancient hula and song) by the Kamehameha Schools Hawaiian Ensemble class. Events feature a 1/4 mile canoe sprint race in Duke’s Beach, Ancient Hawaiian Makahiki land games (the public is invited to participate for a donation to WCC), which include Huki Kaula (Hawaiian Tug-of-War), SUP Paddle Races in Rainbow Lagoon, Canoe Glide Demonstration in Rainbow Lagoon and Duke Beach. Live entertainment featuring Jake Shimabukuro and Henry Kapono and more. Craft and Hawaiian Artist Marketplace. Fun for the whole family.
