Duo Diorama. On Sunday, March 29, 2020 at 2PM, Ebb & Flow Arts will present a free classical concert, Duo Diorama (Chicago), at Kahilu Theatre, Kamuela. Duo Diorama comprises Chinese violinist MingHuan Xu and Canadian pianist Winston Choi. This husband and wife duo are compelling and versatile artists with a startlingly fresh and powerful approach to music for violin and piano. Featured works are Maurice Ravel’s lush “Sonata” for violin and piano, a twentieth century classic, and iconic American composer, Elliott Carter’s epic “Duo” from 1972, for violin and piano. The program also includes twenty-first century works by Winston Choi, Igor Santos, and Robert Pollock. “We are thrilled to return to Kahilu Theatre, and present this Chicago-based, husband and wife team,” says Robert Pollock, Executive Director of Ebb & Flow Arts. “Duo Diorama performs modern works as if they were the classics,” he adds. Duo Diorama has commissioned and premiered over 20 works.
