DESCRIPTION:Friday – Sunday\, September 25 – 27:  \n17th Annual Kaua`i Powwow.  The Powwow begins with the Outreach School program on Friday at Lydgate Pavilion\, Lydgate Beach\, Wailua\, from 9-11 a.m. Later on Friday evening\, the powwow moves to Kapa`a Beach Park with the Indigenous Drum Gathering program from 6 to 9 p.m. Gates open at 4 p.m. on Friday with food and crafts available. On Saturday and Sunday\, powwow festivities continue at Kapa`a Beach Park from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. with the Grand Entry of the Color Guard at 11 a.m. There will be drumming\, dancing\, storytelling\, traditional foods\, silent auction\, Native American and Hawaiian arts and crafts\, and a keiki booth with games and activities. DESCRIPTION:Friday & Saturday\, September 25 & 26:  \nChinese Moon Festival.  Shop the Farmers’ Corner market in the Wo Hing Museum yard. Chinese tea and moon cakes will be served under the sky to the accompaniment of an erhu performance\, a fan dance and community lantern dance between 4 and 7 p.m. each evening. Enjoy craft activities like calligraphy\, lantern making and a planting workshop. Hear a talk on history of moon festivals in China. Traditional Chinese cuisine will be offered for sale.
