Enjoy a fun-filled day of competitive outrigger canoe\, stand up paddle and kayak races\, free island entertainment and a craft marketplace. The event honors its namesake Duke Kahanamoku\, the famed Hawai`i Olympic gold medal swimmer and surfer credited with polarizing the sport around the world. This free and open to the public community event kicks off with a traditional double-hulled canoe procession\, oli (chant) and hula kahiko (ancient hula) performances.
