SUMMARY:Ku Mai Ka Hula 2018
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, September 8: \nKu Mai Ka Hula 2018.  Kū Mai Ka Hula features award-winning hālau competing in solo and group performances. Male and female dancers perform both kahiko (traditional) and `auana (modern) hula stylings.  This year’s invitees include hālau from Japan and Hawai`i. Expect to see hālau competing in a level of performance as in more well-known competitions\, yet this event takes place in our own comfortable\, professional\, and beautiful venue of Castle Theater\, right here on Maui. Attendees can browse\, and shop displays of made-in-Hawai`i products from an array of crafters and artisans before and throughout the Friday and Saturday performances. This is to honor the late Uncle Kindy Sproat\, a true Hawaiian who lived in Pololu Valley\, as his kupuna before him. This event has served as a platform for many falsetto singers to share their talents and voices.
