Lauded for her “intelligence\, integrity and all-encompassing technical prowess” (New York Times)\, “thoughtful artistry in the full service of music” (Washington Post)\, and “astounding virtuosity” (Philippine Star)\, Japan’s InTune magazine sums up: “Buechner has no superior.” The first half of Ms Buechner’s performance at the Kahilu will include classical works by Wolfgang Mozart—Fantasy in D minor KV 397\, and Sonata in D major KC 284 “Dürnitz”—as well as Two Rhapsodies op. 79 composed by Johannes Brahms. After the intermission she will jazz things up a bit with relatively newer works by Variations on a Theme of Poulenec (1957) bu Kouji Taku and Rhapsody in Blue composed by George Gershwin.
