Attendees can learn a variety of Old Time skills\, including local grass basket weaving\, planting endemic trees\, blacksmithing\, fiddle\, banjo\, steel guitar\, guitar\, ukulele\, leo kiekie\, clogging\, square dancing\, dances from the 1920s\, and the history of Hawaiian music from the era. Dances will be held in the evenings\, featuring kachi-kachi and square dance callers.

SUMMARY:Old Koloa Sugar Mill Run
DESCRIPTION:November 09\, 2019:\nOld Koloa Sugar Mill Run. The Rotary Club of Kauai is pleased to announce the 17th annual Old Koloa Sugar Mill Run set for Saturday\, November 9\, 2019 at Anne Knudsen Park\, Junction Maluhia Rd (RT520) & Emi Rd\, Koloa. This is Kauai’s premier 5-Km\, 10-Km\, Half Marathon Runs\, and non-competitive 5-K Walk. The Half Marathon will start at 7:00 A.M.; the 5-K run and walk will start at 7:15 A.M.\, and\, the 10-K run will start at 7:30 A.M. The run will include a breakfast and microfiber T-shirt. Breakfast will be served as the first finishers arrive at about 8:00 A.M. The winners will be announced at about 9:30. Awards will go to overall male and female finishers and medals to age group winners. Details can be found at www.OldKoloaSugarMillRun.org Registration for the Half Marathon is $40.00 at https://register.chronotrack.com/r/45716. Registration for the 10K and 5K runs is $30.00 at https://register.chronotrack.com/r/45716 until Oct 31st. The Juror for 2019 is Tiffany DeEtte Shafto from the Big Island. The finest artists on Kauai will submit work for this popular visual 2d and 3d art exhibition. Artwork may include ceramics\, fiber\, glass\, mixed media\, painting\, sculpture and wood. The exhibition is free of charge and open to the public. Opening Reception is Friday\, Sept 13 from 5-8 pm. Over $2\,000 in cash awards will be presented to the top artwork chosen by the Juror. Since 1983\, KSA is a non-profit organization supporting fine arts on “The Garden Island”.
