DESCRIPTION:October 19\, 2019:\nNorth Shore Noodle Bike Ride.\nPRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. RSVP!\nMeet at the old Kmart parking lot in Kahului (424 Dairy Road\, Kahului\, HI 96732) at 8:45am.\nThe event will begins at 9:00 a.m\, riding 6 miles together together to PAIA ON THE WIDE SHOULDER OF THE HANA HWY and 6 miles back for a total of 12 miles. Trained ride leaders will lead and trail the group and each participant will be provided with a pool noodle to attach and extend out 3′ to the left of each bike. The noodle will be colorful\, flexible\, and marked with “3-Foot Law”.\nAfter the ride\, all are welcome to join us at DOWN TO EARTH HAWAII for brunch/lunch (non-host).\nThe intent is to remind vehicle drivers that there is a new 3-Foot Law in Hawaii (as well as 36 other states) to keep at least a three foot distance from cyclists at all times in order to make the roads safer for all.\nWe hope this ride will communicate the importance of giving cyclists space\, a rule not all drivers are aware of. Our additional messages are to remind both drivers and cyclists to respect the rules of the road and to respect each other. The Maui Marathon has developed a reputation over the years as a quality running event. There is a full marathon\, half marathon\, 10K\, 5K and a newly added full marathon relay. The full marathon and marathon relay starts in Kahului and ends in Kaanapali with scenic views along most of the course.
