Program participants will pick “their dog” up at 10 a.m. and bring them back no later than 3 p.m. MHS provides all of the supplies\, you just provide the fun! DESCRIPTION:Saturday & Sunday\, July 22 & 23:\nKoloa Plantation Days Rodeo.  Hawaiian paniolo (cowboys and cowgirls) have been top rodeo competitors since Ikua Purdy of Waimea\, Hawai`i\, won a national roping contest in Wyoming in 1908. From little keiki on up\, ropers and riders throughout Hawai`i compete in numerous events every year. See bull riding\, double mugging\, team roping\, open barrel racing\, rescue race\, women’s breakaway roping\, steer un-decorating\, the iron horse race and the Hawaiian classic po`o wai u\, an event simulating wild cattle catching from the old paniolo days. The young keiki cowboys and cowgirls will get into the action with mutton busting (sheep riding) Keiki barrel racing\, Junior Steer riding and Keiki team roping. Contestants range from age 2-88 years young and travel from Maui\, Molokai\, Oahu\, the Big Island and some as far away as the mainland. Come cheer on Hawai`i’s best cowboys and cowgirls as they compete for prizes in one of Hawai`i’s top rodeos. Come early to enjoy the colorful grand entry and the history of the “Hawaiian Pa`u Rider”.
