Festival of Stars and Flavors of Waimea: Na Mele o Kaumuali`i

Saturday, October 24: 
Festival of Stars and Flavors of Waimea:  Na Mele o Kaumuali`i.  A musical event showcasing original compositions about significant events and places in honor of Kaua`i’s beloved King Kaumuali`i, the last king of Kaua`i.  Festivities will begin with the sound of the conch shell, with melodious sounds of chants and songs by musicians and hula dancers. Arrive early to enjoy the Flavors of Waimea and see what treasurers the merchants and local craftsmen, including Ni`ihau shell jewelry, have to offer. Take a self guided walking tour using the story boards along Kaumuali`i Highway.  Waimea Town. Noon to 5 p.m.  Free Admission.  For more information call (808) 338-1332.
