Ian O’Sullivan. Born and raised on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaiian guitarist and composer Ian O’Sullivan is well-versed in Hawaiian music and the ukulele and performs a range of styles from classical to Hawaiian slack key guitar. In 2011 he became the first person from Hawaii to receive a Master’s in Guitar from Yale University. Ian has performed internationally as well as throughout the United States including Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall. In 2013 Ian released his first solo album “Born and Raised,” featuring his original compositions alongside music of fellow Hawaii composers. In 2016 he released his second album “Songs for the North Shore”- a set of original compositions written for specific places and stories from the North Shore of Oahu. Ian is currently based out of Honolulu and teaches Classical Guitar at the University of Hawaii.
