Sara Davis Buechner
November 10, 2019:
Sara Davis Buechner. Noted for her musical command, cosmopolitan artistry, and visionary independence, Sara Davis Buechner is one of the most original concert pianists of our time and will perform at the Kahilu Theatre Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 2 pm. Lauded for her “intelligence, integrity and all-encompassing technical prowess” (New York Times), “thoughtful artistry in the full service of music” (Washington Post), and “astounding virtuosity” (Philippine Star), Japan’s InTune magazine sums up: “Buechner has no superior.” The first half of Ms Buechner’s performance at the Kahilu will include classical works by Wolfgang Mozart—Fantasy in D minor KV 397, and Sonata in D major KC 284 “Dürnitz”—as well as Two Rhapsodies op. 79 composed by Johannes Brahms. After the intermission she will jazz things up a bit with relatively newer works by Variations on a Theme of Poulenec (1957) bu Kouji Taku and Rhapsody in Blue composed by George Gershwin.
