Celebrate the historic feats of Pacific navigators and current day efforts to revive and expand celestial navigation skills and interest in long distance deep-sea canoe voyaging that connects the many indigenous island communities in the Pacific Ocean. Hilo Wayfinding and Navigation Festival
Saturday, October 24: Hilo Wayfinding and Navigation Festival. Celebrate the achievements of stewards of local heritage and culture, featuring hands-on activities, including wayfinding and navigation skill education, games, canoe exhibits, a planetarium program and speaker presentations. The festival is free and open to the public. Fees will be charged for entry to the Imiloa exhibit hall and daily planetarium shows.
