Kickoff Event for Maui Matsuri (Japanese Festival)
Friday, May 8: Kickoff Event for Maui Matsuri (Japanese Festival). Taiko performances, karaoke, and karate demonstrations will be a few of the highlights of this event. Also featured will be a coloring contest, appearance by Hello Kitty, and more. The event will conclude with bon odori (bon dance) practice around the stage. Queen Ka`ahumanu Center, 275 W. Let it Snow!
Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays, December 2 – 23: Let it Snow! Back by popular demand, Queen Ka`ahumanu Center will once again transform into a giant snow globe with its award-winning “Let it Snow!” snowfall experience. Maui Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival
Friday – Sunday, April 13 - 15: Maui Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival. Festivities in Ka`anapali include open stage performances on Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., two days of ho`olaule`a pageants with six presentations each night from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., kanikapila jam sessions for the public hosted by master steel guitar players each night at 9:30 p.m., steel guitar workshops on Saturday, cultural activities, a silent auction, and vintage steel guitar exhibit courtesy of Geri Valdriz.
