King Kamehameha Day in Hilo
Tuesday, June 11: King Kamehameha Day in Hilo. Events will be at Moku Ola, Coconut Island, right off Bayfront Drive next to the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel. The festival kicks off at 9 a.m. with the opening ceremony, followed by a conch shell blowing contest for all ages. Enjoy traditional Hawaiian music with hula by various halau (hula schools). The festival will have traditional arts and crafts and food. The closing ceremony is at 4:30 p.m. This is a family-friendly event. …

Friday & Saturday, June 10 & 11: King Kamehameha Celebration – Lei Draping and Ho`olaulea, Hilo. Lei draping ceremony will begin 5 p.m. at Wailoa State Park. Enjoy live music and the offering of lei, chant and dance.
