Hawaiian Airlines Made In Maui County Festival (6th Annual).Maui County’s largest products show, the annual Hawaiian Airlines Made in Maui County Festival, returns on Nov. 1 and 2, 2019. This popular event features over 140 vendors offering hundreds of made in Maui County products all in one location – the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului. Those who want to be first through the gate and who appreciate a leisurely shopping experience will enjoy the “Exclusive Shopping Day” on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 1:30 pm to 6 pm. Festivities include the Opening Ceremony and complimentary pupus at 5 pm. Attendees will receive a free festival tote bag and have the opportunity to win a special Maui getaway (must be present to win). Tickets ($35 per person, children 12 and under are free) will be available via the MACC Box Office starting August 1st. Call (808) 242-SHOW (7469) or visit MauiArts.org. On Saturday, Nov. 2, the “Big Festival Day” will be open from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Public admission is $5 (purchase that day only at MACC Box Office), children 12 and under are free. Saturday’s festivities will include live entertainment, fashion and talk shows, 13 food trucks, and prize drawings. The first 2,000 attendees will receive a free festival tote bag. Complimentary shuttles will be available on Saturday to/from War Memorial Gym and the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Parking is free. The festival is presented by the Maui Chamber of Commerce and supported by the County of Maui Mayor’s Office of Economic Development. Hawaiian Airlines is the event’s title sponsor.

Maui Chamber Orchestra Presents Our First Chamber Music Concert

Maui Chamber Orchestra Presents Our First Chamber Music Concert. Maui Chamber Orchestra is excited to present Music for String Quartet (+1), the first concert in our new Chamber Music Series. The program includes Gershwin’s Lullaby for String Quartet, Borodin’s Notturno (Nocturne) from String Quartet #2 in D Major, and Schubert’s String Quartet in C Major. Our 2019-2020 season will include two orchestral concerts, one with the Maui Chamber Orchestra Chorus, and a Chamber Music Series of four concerts, of which this is the first. Tickets $10-$30. Hawaiian Sunset Saturdays. On the last Saturday of every month, everyone’s invited to gather and celebrate Kona’s spectacular sunset with live Hawaiian music and beautiful hula performed by the dancers of Halau Kaeaikahelelani, under the direction of kumu hula Yuki Kaea Lyons and Lily Kahelelani Lyons Dudoit.
Bring lawn chair or beach mats and enjoy the evening as the sun begins its journey over the horizon. As Hawaiian Sunset Saturday comes to a close, attendees can extend the evening at one of many nearby restaurants.
Parking is available; coolers are not permitted.

Boo at the Zoo, presented by the Honolulu Zoo Society, is Waikiki’s best family-friendly Halloween Event! Located on the Stage Lawn at the Zoo, this family event will have lots of spooky fun with a Trick-or-Treat Trail, Spooky Story Times, Mad Science demonstrations, Conservation Education Stations, face painting, and lots of fun keiki activities, crafts and games. This year’s event will feature two Haunted Houses – one for the little ones and one for the older kids. Participation fee is $10 for Honolulu Zoo Society, $15 for non-members, and free for keiki 2 years and under. All activities are included with participation fee. Highlighting the migratory and accidental avian visitors that arrive in Hawaii each year, the 2019 HIFB theme is “Wanderers and Migrants-Hawaii’s Unique Avian Visitors.” The festival includes a reception and film festival Thursday, 10/24/19, guided birding excursions on land and sea, and the fun “Birds, Brews & Binos” bird fair Friday, 10/25/19. New in 2019 will be added education and focus on Papahanaumokuakea National Marine Monument. Beneficiaries are the Hawaii Wildlife Center and The Hawaii Island Coast to Coast Birding Trail.
