Xterra World Championship

Xterra World Championship.  The last in a series of nearly 100 off-road triathlon races held in 16 countries and 30+ U.S. States. The concept is to provide a bona-fide off-road world championship for amateur and pro athletes. For pros there is $105,000 in prize money at stake. Amateurs race for the title of XTERRA World Champion. Hawaiian Moonlight.  George Kahumoku Jr. and friends volunteer their talent, and organize stage performances of Hawaiian music as their way of “giving back” to the Bailey House Museum. Bring your blanket or a low back beach chair and enjoy the evening listening to music under the moon and stars. Maui County Fair and Parade.  The 91st Maui County Fair starts off with an old fashion county parade starting at 4:30 p.m. along Ka`ahumanu Ave., turning on Kanaloa Ave. into the fairgrounds at the War Memorial Complex. Helping paws VISITOR volunteer program

Every Wednesday & Thursday, 1 – 4 PM:
Helping paws VISITOR volunteer program at the Maui Humane Society Shelter in Pu`unene in central Maui on Mokulele Highway between Kihei and Kahului. FOR MAUI VISITORS ONLY (not residents).  Visitors can offer a “helping paw” to homeless animals at the Maui Humane Society shelter doing such activities as walking dogs, bathing puppies, brushing cats, or playing with puppies and kittens. Participants are requested to arrive by 1 p.m. and recommended to wear close-toed shoes and comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting “mussed” or dirty. Children aged 10 to17 are welcome when accompanied by a supervising adult for the duration of the volunteer session.
