Maui’s Whale Day Celebration. One of Maui’s most popular festivals, this free, all-day celebration honors the hump- back whales that come to Maui each winter. Featuring live entertainment by some of Hawaii’s top performers, great food by Maui restaurants, activities and bouncy rides for kids, a huge “Made on Maui” artisans fair, environmental displays and more. It begins at 9:00 a.m. with Maui’s Parade of Whales along South Kihei Road and continues through 6:00 p.m. at Kalama Park, on South Kihei Road, South Maui. Listen to the haunting and mysterious songs of humpback whales in the ocean around you – or maybe view a surfacing whale by moon or starlight! Narrated by special guest Harriett Witt, an interna- tional award winning astronomy writer and speaker, known for her entertaining and informa- tive commentary on the stars. Run & Walk for the Whales

Saturday, February 4: Run & Walk for the Whales. All are invited to take part in one of Maui’s largest fun runs and  walking events. The Run and Walk for the Whales course includes ocean views — you might even see a whale or two breaching in the distance! Choose from the 5K walking course, 5K running course, half marathon running course and 2K running course for kids.
