Free Lei Making Workshops

Wednesday & Thursdays, April 13 & 14, 20 & 21: 
Free Lei Making Workshops.  These free workshops are open to the public and will provide participants with an opportunity to learn or improve lei making skills prior to the upcoming Lei Day Celebration.  Learn how to make lei using different methods: Kui, Hili and Wili. Shazam! Dance & Science

Shazam! Dance & Science.  Showcasing UHM undergraduate and graduate student dancers, the annual dance concert is a feast of movement, lights, sound and technology. With choreography from UHM dance faculty as well as guest artists – this show links exciting scientific theories and exploration with the virtuosity and expressivity of dance. Special Olympics Hawai`i’s Polar Plunge

Saturday, April 2: 
Special Olympics Hawai`i’s Polar Plunge.  Polar Plunge returns with a vengeance featuring a new taller and longer slide. The popular event is back in full “FORCE” with a Star Wars theme to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Hawai`i. Polar Plunge asks participants to raise a minimum of $100 to take the plunge into a pool of ice cold water – this year down a new taller and longer slide measuring in at 36 feet high and 95 feet long. Those that raise $200 or more can take an additional plunge into an ice-cold above-ground pool. Art on the Fence

Art on the Fence.  Artists post up there artworks on the south end of Honolulu Zoo fence, across from Kapiolani Park.  Casually stroll Monsarrat Avenue and check out various works of art from local artists.  See original artwork including paintings, photos, ceramics, and other mediums of art.

Pono Kapolei Fun Run

Pono Kapolei Fun Run.  This fundraiser helps raise monies to keep Kapolei keiki away from drugs, tobacco and alcohol.  Proceeds from this event help to keep `Oahu’s keiki occupied in healthy and positive activities.  UH West `Oahu Campus, 91-1001 Farrington Hwy., Kapolei.  8 to 10 a.m.

8th Annual Love Life Creative Festival and Dance Showcase
