Special Olympics Hawai`i’s Polar Plunge.  Polar Plunge returns with a vengeance featuring a new taller and longer slide. The popular event is back in full “FORCE” with a Star Wars theme to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Hawai`i. Polar Plunge asks participants to raise a minimum of $100 to take the plunge into a pool of ice cold water – this year down a new taller and longer slide measuring in at 36 feet high and 95 feet long. Those that raise $200 or more can take an additional plunge into an ice-cold above-ground pool. Plungers & Jedis alike can register individually or as a team online. Waterfront Plaza lawn fronting Ala Moana Blvd., 500 Ala Moan Blvd., Honolulu. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  For information and to register call (808) 943-8808 or visit www.specialolympicshawaii.org.
