Duke Kahanamoku Beach Challenge.
Enjoy a fun-filled day of competitive outrigger canoe, stand up paddle and kayak races, free island entertainment and a craft marketplace. The event honors its namesake Duke Kahanamoku, the famed Hawai`i Olympic gold medal swimmer and surfer credited with polarizing the sport around the world. This free and open to the public community event kicks off with a traditional double-hulled canoe procession, oli (chant) and hula kahiko (ancient hula) performances.
